At the beginning of Advent, I attended an excellent quiet day Advent Retreat. It was so good and just what I needed. I want to share with you one of my favorite prayers from this retreat. The retreat was led by, and the prayer written by, Christine Sine, who blogs at Godspace Light. I encourage you to check out Christine’s work. Here is the prayer that continues to move me.

Make room.
Let Christ be born.
In the quiet and innermost spaces
Of your heart.

Make room.
Let Christ be born.
In the streets and in the ghettos,
In the famines and the plagues,
And in the wars.

Make room.
Let Christ be born.
Not far away in distant places.
But in every heart and place.
Where love and faith are found.

Make room.
Let Christ be born.
And find in us his Bethlehem.
Amen

My response:
Yes, Lord. Come, Lord Jesus, be born anew in my heart. Find in me your Bethlehem.

Merry Christmas and God’s blessings to each of you.
